What do you need?

So a pair of trainers, shorts and a t-shirt??
Well yes and no...
If , like me you started trotting round the block in an old pair of trainers then wondered why your knees hurt you'll know that you need to get the right pair of shoes.

I'm not going to try and tell you what shoes to wear but what I will say is find your nearest specialist running shop. Get someone there who knows what they're talking about to check your gait and assess what type of shoe you need.
Try on lots of pairs until you find the ones that feel the best...not the ones that look the prettiest or the coolest...the ones that FEEL best..cos trust me when you're out pounding the streets you'll soon find out whether that £80 was well spent!!

Essentially you need an expert to tell you whether you over pronate, under pronate etc etc and it's not worth guessing yourself...
Once you know what sort of shoe you need you can then shop around.

So, that old cotton t shirt and your rugby shorts will do?
Not really. They'll be fine while you get going, but once you up your mileage you'll want decent kit..
All you really need is a good technical wicking t shirt or vest and similar shorts or tights. These will wick moisture away from your body and keep you feeling cool and fresh. You don't need to spend a fortune but a little investment will go a long way.
